You may have heard the rumours of a new Lan Mine shop opening up in Wodonga, I'm here to tell you they're all true. I can officially confirm that the Lan Mine Wodonga shop has opened its doors to the gaming public at 161 High Street Wodonga (opposite the water tower).  

To celebrate this occasion we have a new coupon that gives 3 hours of computing for the price of 2. These coupons can be picked up at either store but are only valid at Wodonga.

The opening hours are currently (but may change depending on demand) 10am - 10pm.

Inside the new shop are 16 top of the range PC's all with the latest games. There is a direct connection between the two shops allowing players at each store to play against each other, so if you think Wodonga is better, prove it and let the Albury guys know who's boss.

Its been a busy holiday period @ The LAN Mine and we are long past due for a news update! So here it is...

The Zombie Mod for Call Of Duty 5: World at War has been getting some serious attention from LAN Mine Gamers.

For those of you not in the know....Once the single player campaign has been completed players will gain access to the mode which sends waves of Nazi Zombie adversaries in the players direction. The mode sports an economy system which allows players to purchase new weapons and rebuild barricades to slow down the zombie rush. The game is run in co-op mode and can field 2-4 players.... Now it may sound simple but it is seriously addictive and highly amusing.

A big booh-yah goes out to Serge, David, Ben and Ethan who hold the records for 2, 3 and 4 player modes at level 24, 23 and an incredible level 26. According to Internet sources the games developers only made it to level 23 before the release.

The boys think their level 26 record is 'unbeatable'..can you prove them wrong?

We are also experiencing a big DoTA revival @ The LAN Mine.

Again for thos not in the know...Defence of The Ancients (DoTA) is a custome scenario for Warcraft III, based on the "Aeon of Strife" map for StarCraft. The objective of the scenario is to destroy the opponents' "Ancient". The two teams' ancients are heavily guarded structures at opposing corners of the map. Players use powerful units known as heroes, and are assisted by allied heroes and AI-controlled fighters called "creeps".

Again it sounds simple but requires chess like strategy to be employed to become a master.

We had a couple of 3v3 shuffled player single draft matches on Saturday the 7th of Feburary. With Gavin(Malboro) dominating...winning his pool and overall while Chris(Horny) dominated the second Pool.

 We are also playing a weekly (Tuesdays @ 7pm) Truerank (Inter-cafe) 5v5 XL mode DoTA comp. With some players only having limited availability we are still looking for some players.... give us a call if you want in!
